CB Prince Amukamara (concussion), LB Dan Connor (neck), T David Diehl (thumb) and TE Adrien Robinson (foot) all sat out Wednesday's practice.
Tom Coughlin said Prince felt 'better' yesterday but gave no indication if his star CB will play this week. Connor is still day-to-day and the other two will be out for the foreseeable future.
Connor may not play this week, leaving the Giants with only four LBs. The negative is Mark Herzlich will be the MLB and he struggled in pass coverage last week. The positive is Jacquian Williams will get more reps. That's always good.
Limited in practice were: C David Baas (knee), DE Damontre Moore (shoulder), RB Da'Rel Scott (knee)
The last thing the Giants needed was to get another RB hurt. That's what happened yesterday when Scott left the field at practice with an apparent knee injury. He returned to practice and MRIs were said to be negative. More to come on him.
If he can't go, the Giants will be forced to pull David Wilson out of the penalty box and give Michael Cox and Brandon Jacobs, who admittedly weighed 290 at one point this year, more snaps.
Baas always seems to be hurting, but last season he played through the hurt and started all 16 games. This year, his sprained knee has kept him out of the lineup, something he's not used to.
"I despise that,” Baas said about watching his team play from home. “That’s why I want to be smart about it, but I want to get back on the field as soon as I can. We’re really watching it day by day. Today was a big step forward and we’ll keep doing the things we’re doing to get it better. I think I’ve got a good shot. I’m just going to keep working.”
Baas' return would give the Giants a bit more semblance of order on the line. Kevin Boothe would move back to LG, giving the Giants back four of their regular five starters from last year's OL group.
Moore's shoulder is improving, but the recently-turned 21 year-old looks like a scratch again this week.
"It’s improving. It’s improving each and every day, Moore said yesterday. "I’m just waiting until that one day when they say you can go ahead and go all out...I’ve been doing treatment, practicing and lifting. I’m just doing everything I can do."
For the Broncos, CB Champ Bailey (foot), TE Joel Dreessen (knee), LB Wesley Woodyard (ankle) did not practice and RB C.J. Anderson (knee), CB Omar Bolden (shoulder), WR Eric Decker (shoulder), WR Trindon Holliday (knee), G Chris Kuper (ankle), WR Wes Welker (ankle) were limited.
