With the first pick in this year's NFL Draft he's got two more franchise QBs staring him right in TE face. It was originally thought that Stanford's Andrew Luck was a shoe-in, but the Heisman Trophy winner - Baylor's Robert Griffin III - has shown recently that he may be worthy of the top pick, too. His pro day was a knockout.
Irsay was so impressed, he began to ponder if Griffin should be the pick rather than Luck, even telling ESPN's Michael Wilbon that the pick is "up on the air."
Recently Irsay, an avid Twitterer, hinted on who he might be leaning towards on April 26....
“Met with A Luck#12 n Indy 2day for 3 hrs;it’s easy 2c why the #1 pick n this Stanford phenom has been synonymous with each other 4over 2 yrs..."
From Mike Florio:
"So does it mean Luck will be the pick? Irsay isn’t saying, yet. Possibly, Irsay likes the attention — and the Twitter followers that go along with it. Also, with the Redskins locked on to Robert Griffin III, Irsay also may like the fact that the uncertainty is making Daniel Snyder and company more than a little nervous."
The prop betting market has picked up on Irsay's ambivalence and action has picked up considerably, according to Dave Johnson head odds maker at SportsBettingOnline.ag:
“All the rumors and excitement surrounding this particular draft forced us to create a prop bet available to all the Sportsbettingonline.ag active players,” noted Johnson. “We handicapped the information and created a 4-way prop bet which will add tons of excitement to the draft."
