Last year, they had five of hem in camp and only one - Bear Pascoe - was healthy enough to participate in drills at one point.
Kevin Boss has shown that he can do the job, but he's been in and out of the lineup with various ills. Because his status varies from week-to-week, Boss' impact on the offense can't be determined. When he's healthy, he good. But he hasn't been healthy often enough to be factored in to the game plan prominently.
The Giants have been looking for a compliment/replacement for Boss, but have yet to find one outside of Pascoe, who ironically was switched to fullback to cover for the injured Madison Hedgecock.
This week, the Giants' Mike Pope, the best TE coach in the NFL, was out in South Bend checking out Irish TE Kyle Rudolph. Pope is always around these TE workouts, and Rudolph is considered one of the top TEs in this year's draft.
There may be nothing to it.....but then again, you never know with the Giants.
