[LB Coach] Herrmann was complimentary toward LB Clint Sintim, but said Kiwanuka would handle the position on first and second down. However, Herrmann said "All bets are off" on third down, so Kiwanuka could move back to DE in those circumstances.Considering that most of the other options at strongside linebacker are either rookies or Clint Sintim, this is not a huge surprise. Still, it seems like there was never any competition, so it's interesting that Raskin's characterized it as "winning" the starting LB job. It seems as if the Giants were ready to hand Kiwanuka the job as long as they deemed him healthy, so this is good news on that front.
The Giants have some intriguing young LBs, including Mark Herzlich and Jacquian Williams, MLBs Greg Jones and Philip Dillard, as well as Sintim returning from injury. The Job is Kiwanuka's, but it'll be interesting to see what the youngsters can bring to the table.
Of course, this could all change if the Giants trade Osi Umenyiora.
