The first series of Kyle Lauletta's Giants careeer went like this:
- Throw on the run that was incomplete
The 23-year-old Lauletta, who is spending his second week as the backup, entered for Eli Manning late in the Giants' Week 14 matchup with the Redskins with Big Blue up, 40-0.
The expectation had been that Lauletta would get time at some point this season, SNY's Ralph Vacchiano has reported. Lauletta's debut was expected to come after the Giants were officially eliminated from playoff contention. The Giants' razor thin playoff hopes are still alive, so Lauletta had to settle for debuting with his team up 40 points.
The 23-year-old University of Richmond product, who had a run-in with police earlier this season due to a traffic violation, was taken by the Giants in the fourth round (108th overall) of the NFL Draft in April.
While the Giants are seeing what Lauletta can do and might turn to a QB in the NFL Draft, Manning could return as the starter in 2019.
