It ain't happenin.
If you watch the below video, ESPN's Adam Schefter explains that Giants' head coach is signed through 2012, not 2011 as previously thought. If that is true (and Schefter is rarely offbase) it means the team does not have to make any decisions regarding Coughlin until at least the end of next season.
They are not firing him, so stop the inane rumors and conjecture. It makes no sense. Some assistants may be terminated, but Tom is staying.
He is one of the game's top coaches and will be difficult to replace, for one. Another reason he's staying is the team needs as much continuity as possible during the upcoming labor negotiations.
As for Coughlin disciplining players (specifically punter Matt Dodge) on the sidelines, don't listen to these morons telling you it's classless and unfair.
Every coach whoever had his bust mounted in Canton did it. The beloved Bill Parcells did it, too. But if Coughlin does it, it's suddenly wrong.
Matt Dodge still has a job today, doesn't he? If he were a Patriot, Bill Belichick wouldn't have bothered to yell. Dodge would be quietly let go and unemployed for the holidays.....which is worse.
