In his 15-year career, all with the Giants, Strahan tallied 141.5 sacks, including 22.5 in 2001, which was the single season sack record.
Strahan also had 667 total tackles over his 216 game career.
He will go into the hall as a member of the 2014 class.
Strahan was selected at the NHL Honors event at Radio City Music Hall on Saturday night.
Strahan was well deserved as were the others: WR Andre Reed, OL Walter Jones, LB Derrick Brooks, CB Aeneas Williams and veteran selections DE Claude Humphrey and P Ray Guy.
As much as Warren Sapp protested, Strahan belongs in Canton and, as many in this region believe, way before Sapp, who was inducted last summer.
Happy to see THE PUNTER, Ray Guy, finally get his due. He's waited way toooo long. Reed was a great receiver - a YAC phenom. Jones is a natural as is Brooks. Humphrey was a menace in his day, but played on losing teams for the most part. A little shocked about Williams, an under-the-radar player who never got a whole lot of praise, but he belongs, too.
