The former Houston Texan and New England Patriot is glad to get a chance to compete for a roster spot with the defending Super Bowl champs.
"It's exciting to be here," Molden said on the Giants' website today. "I like everything about this situation. I like the coaching staff. When I was coming out of college I liked the Giants - I liked the defense, I liked the players. They recruit good players. There's a team-first attitude. They're selfless. That's the blueprint for success and you see that here. That's what I want to be a part of."
He will have lots of competition in camp. Veteran Corey Webster is sure to have one corner spot locked up and the other will be sought by Prince Amukamara and the returning Terrell Thomas. Michael Coe, Bruce Johnson and Justin Tryon, who like Thomas are coming off season-ending injuries, will all be in the mix as well as any draftees and UDFAs the Giants decide to bring in.
Training camp is going to extremely interesting this summer and the defensive backfield will be one of units that will provide the most competition.
