We knew this game wasn't going to be pretty, but not with the Giants coming away with the win.
Sloppy football was found by both teams, especially on the offensive side of the ball. The Chiefs didn't score a single touchdown, and head coach Andy Reid got so desperate to make a play he had Travis Kelce throw a deep bomb down the field that was intercepted by Landon Collins.
The Giants tried a similar play on their first drive with Shane Vereen throwing a pick right at the goal line. They did, however, convert a fake punt to keep that drive alive.
The Giants' defense needs to get all the credit for this win. Much like their victory in Denver, the defense was stout, alert, and this week, played with tons of heart. Players like Collins and Janoris Jenkins, who had awful games in San Francisco, were pests to the Chiefs all game long. Jenkins had a huge interception that set the Giants up with great field position late in the fourth to take the lead.
It was another story of the Giants defense going most of the work, and the offense doing just enough to put points on the board and kill clock. Either way, it was a much needed win after the past two weeks where the Giants looked absolutely helpless.
