Morning hosts Craig Carton and Boomer continue to insist that New York is a Jet town.
Their logic? The Jets re-signed Santonio Holmes yesterday while the Giants simply went about their business.
First off, Holmes wanted to return to the Jets. Not many other teams were vying for his services due to his past off-field issues.
The Giants signed a center to potentially replace Shaun O'Hara. His name is David Baas. You haven't heard of him because he played for the 49ers who haven't been on national TV in awhile.
May we add, that no one heard of O'Hara, either, when they signed him...and look how that turned out.
Ahmad Bradshaw's agent is Drew Rosenhaus. That explains the drama. He will be a Giant.
This is still a Giant town until the Jets win the Super Bowl.
They have one trophy in their case. We are not sure if it is even still silver-colored. The trophy was won so long ago, Vince Lombardi's name isn't even on it. Why? Because he was still alive at the time..
For the record, championships are won on the field, not in the media. As WFAN's own Joe Beningo says the Jets best work is done from February through August.
The teams that quietly go a about their business are the ones that hoist the hardware in this league.
