Week 1 NFL Preview from our friends at SBRForum.com
Interested to know what may be the best NFL picks for Week 1 of the season? Look no further as we rummage through the schedule and see where we might find the best available value.
It all starts on September 5th, on a Wednesday no less.
The Dallas Cowboys visit MetLife Stadium to take on the defending champion New York Giants. The Giants will try to begin their quest for another title off on the right foot, but it'll be tough against a revamped Cowboys defense, even if the game's at home.
As is usually the case, there are a few games that stand out above the rest come the first Sunday and Monday of the season.
We'll start off first with the Green Bay Packers, who finished an impressive 15-1 last season before falling short in the playoffs. They battle the league's toughest defense from the San Francisco 49ers at Lambeau Field.
Sunday night is a must-see matchup between the Denver Broncos and Pittsburgh Steelers. It's Peyton Manning's first start for his new team. What a way to start, up against arguably the most brutal D in the NFL.
The first Monday night game will be the Baltimore Ravens at home to the Cincinnati Bengals. It's two AFC South contenders here and it should be a dandy. The Bengals really came on last season and are now a real threat in the division.
Elsewhere in Week 1, Tom Brady and the New England Patriots travel to Nashville to play the Tennessee Titans, while New Orleans will host Washington and Chicago entertains Andrew Lucck and the Colts.
It's most definitely an action-packed first week and the storylines will be prominent across the league.
That said, there are sure to be some surprises. Everything is possible in the NFL.
