From Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com:
NFL spokesman Greg Aiello announced Monday that the league will push back the trading deadline 48 hours to Thursday, Nov. 1 at 4 p.m. ET because of Hurricane Sandy. The original deadline was scheduled for Tuesday.
Aiello first told Around the League via email Monday that the NFL was considering extending the deadline. It makes sense because multiple teams have shut down operations Monday. The NFL office in New York also is closed Monday and Tuesday, which would have made paperwork tricky to pull off for any potential deals.
The Giants usually do not get involved in trades. Since Jerry Reese took over as GM in 2007, the Giants have not made a single midseason trade.
