Giants RB Orleans Darkwa (back) is not dealing with a serious injury and there is a "chance" that he could practice at some point this week, according to ESPN's Jordan Raanan.
After rushing for 22 yards on seven carries, Darkwa left Sunday's loss to the Eagles with a back injury.
The running back's role with the team has been increasing by the week, as Paul Perkins and Shane Vereen have struggled to find consistency on the ground.
Perkins is averaging just 2.1 yards per carry this season, while Vereen has just seven carries for 33 yards.
Darkwa, a power back, is averaging 4.1 yards per carry -- 13 attempts for 53 yards -- and has three receptions for 13 yards so far this season. In 2016-17, Darkwa had 30 carries for 111 yards (3.7 YPC) and two touchdowns in 11 games played.
