RB Paul Perkins has cleared waivers and remains on the Giants reserve/non-football injury list. He will not take up a spot on the 90-man roster.
Perkins was waived by the Giants earlier this week. SNY's Ralph Vacchiano reported last month that Perkins needed surgery after suffering a torn pectoral muscle while working out on his own before the offseason program.
The Giants never announced a timetable for Perkins' recovery, though Vacchiano noted that -- depending on the extent of the tear -- the general recovery timetable is four-to-six months.
The 23-year-old rushed 41 times for 90 yards in 11 games last season.
The current notable running backs on the Giants' roster are Saquon Barkley, Jonathan Stewart and Wayne Gallman.
