SNY's Willie Colon, during an appearance on SNY, said sources told him that players felt "nothing was accomplished" during a meeting on Tuesday between the NFL, executives, players, and the NFL Players' Association.
"Nothing got done," Colon said when describing what he heard from the meeting. "It was pretty much a waste of a Tuesday."
Following the meeting, the NFL and NFLPA released a joint statement saying the meeting was "productive" and that they "pledged to meet again" to continue working together.
Giants owner John Mara and LB Mark Herzlich were present at the meeting, where Colon said Colin Kaepernick's name quickly surfaced and disappeared. Instead of further discussion regarding Kaepernick, there was a bathroom break. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell was "reading the paper" during the meeting, Colon added.
"Right now it's a standstill," Colon said.
Kaepernick's lawyer said his client was not invited to attend the meeting, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, but players wanted him to be there and asked that he attend the next meeting that takes place.
