As usual each Wednesday, the opposing coach is made available to the Giant beat pool for a short Q and A. Today, Philadelphia head coach Andy Reid faced the Giant writers and he seemed thankful, considering the way the Philly press has been flambaying him this season...
On Michael Vick, who sat out of practice today with broken ribs..."He is not practicing today. He is going to take it day-by-day and see how he does."
If Michael Vick can’t go, who will take the reps at quarterback?"I don’t know. I haven’t decided yet on how I am going to do the practice today. I will determine that after I get done here."
You have not ruled Vick out for Sunday?"Right, yes."
Do you expect to battle with him this week to see if he will play?"I am taking it day-by-day. That is how I am approaching it."
Will DeSean Jackson be back this week?"Yes."
Has this season been more difficult than in years past?"Right now, all my energy is going into playing the New York Giants. That is how I approach each week. I don’t get caught up in all the other stuff."
Do you see a difference in Eli Manning’s decision making this year?"First of all, his O-line is doing a nice job and his wide receivers, tight ends, and running backs are doing a nice job. Eli has a lot of trust in those guys and he is playing well. It is that simple. He is well coached. He is a good player and a very intelligent guy."
Is there any way the Eagles can find its way and make the playoffs?"I am going to tell you the same thing I told our media, I don’t worry about all that. The only thing I would about is preparing our team to play the New York Giants. That is it. I don’t worry about anything else past that."
