Giants WR Odell Beckham will attend the Giants' offseason workout program beginning on Monday, he told ESPN's Josina Anderson.
Beckham is slated to fly to New Jersey on Sunday and will be at the Giants' facility on Monday to "check in, workout in the gym and meet with some people," Anderson reports. The Giants will have an opportunity to see how Beckham has progressed in his recovery from ankle surgery, which shortened his 2017 campaign to just four games.
Beckham's name has been involved in trade rumors this offseason as well as an NFL Network report that he would "not set foot on a field without a new contract extension agreed to."
Giants head coach Pat Shurmur mentioned in March that Beckham would be "ready to go" for the offseason program.
"There are steps he has to take," Shurmur said. "All indications are he will be back healthy by the time we start playing in September."
Beckham caught 25 passes for 302 yards and three touchdowns last season before he was sidelined due to injury. He caught a career-high 101 passes in 2016 for 1,367 yards and 10 touchdowns.
