There is "talk in league circles" that the Giants could fire coach Ben McAdoo on Monday if the team loses to the 49ers on Sunday, reports Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.
The Giants (1-7) have not won since defeating the Denver Broncos nearly a month ago but will face a winless 49ers team Sunday afternoon.
McAdoo is heading into the game after a rocky week during which he was the target of anonymous comments by players.
"McAdoo has lost this team," one anonymous player told ESPN's Josina Anderson. "He's got us going 80 percent on Saturdays before we get on a plane to play a game, it's wild. Changed our off day. He's dishing out fines like crazy. Suspended two of our stars when we need them the most. Throws us under the bus all the time. He's ran us into the ground and people wonder why we've been getting got."
McAdoo, who was hired by the Giants in 2014 to serve as the team's offensive coordinator, was promoted to head coach ahead of last season. He led the Giants to a playoff berth in his first season as head coach.
