"I feel bad for Stevie Brown. He’s been a tremendous addition to our team," said Tom Coughlin after the game. "The guy has another interception and then has that happen. I don’t really understand how it happened. I couldn’t see it, but evidently he just got his foot planted the wrong way. I don’t think it was a contact injury."
It wasn't. Brown twisted his knee making a cut and went down without being touched. He immediately grabbed the knee, never a good sign. Coughlin will hold a presser at 4pm today to update.
This would be a huge blow to the Giants defense since Antrel Rolle is also currently out with a sprained ankle and is uncertain for the start of the season.
To complicate matters further, Will Hill is suspended the first four games of the season for a drug violation.
That leaves only Ryan Mundy, Tyler Sash, David Caldwell and rookie Cooper Taylor at safety right now.
Aaron Ross could play safety in a pinch, but with Corey Webster and Jayron Hosley hurting, he's needed at corner.
The Giants could conceivably bring back Kenny Phillips, who is slated to be cut by the Eagles or perhaps coax Deon Grant out of retirement...
