Saquon Barkley is fresh off an incredible rookie campaign that might earn him an Offensive Rookie of the Year honor, but he is focused on the offseason and is taking the advice of future Hall of Fame RB Frank Gore.
"I don't want to take too much time off and I don't want to not take enough time. Try to find a balance, talk to vets you know, I talked to Frank Gore, he gave me great advice," said Barkley when asked how he will tackle his first offseason. "How he handles it...try to find out the right thing for my body, to balance it and give me the best shape I can."
Gore is coming off his 14th season in the league and is revered for his durability at the position where he ranks 4th all time in rushing with 14,748 yards.
Meanwhile, Pat Shurmur applauded his team for their mindset and effort this season, but understands there's a busy offseason ahead.
"We're a different team than this theam was a year ago and it's a credit to the players, they've been very coachable, they've done what we've asked, staying in the moment and continued to fight...I think we've made progress," Shurmur told the media on Monday. "Right is right, we have to get better in all areas."
Lastly, Landon Collins updated reporters about his contract status, which according to the Safety, is a process that has yet to begin.
"I'm going to leave that up to my agency and go from there."
