Former Giants OL Geoff Schwartz criticized a pair of his former teammates, OL Ereck Flowers and former OL Bobby Hart, on WFAN Tuesday afternoon.
Schwartz recently alleged that Hart, who was released by the team before Week 17, "came into the facility this week and told the staff he wasn't playing this week. Flowers also refused to play, according to ESPN, leading to his benching."
Schwartz believes the players were "coddled to get to the point they want to do that."
"I've had teammates before I did not like, not many of them, but two come to mind and I'm not going to repeat who they are because I respect them," Schwartz said. "I might not like them as a teammate for some of the things they did in the locker room or the way they treated me and other guys, but they worked hard, I respected their work ethic at least and I can't say the same with those two guys."
Schwartz said he knows linemen who routinely play through injuries and indicated that it was part of the job.
""It's not like offensive linemen to decide one day not to play because your team is not doing well and oh, 'I'm a little beat up,'" he said. "I'm glad Gettleman made the move. If he had the opportunity to get rid of Flowers as well he would do it."
