As one would expect, Giants RB Saquon Barkley was named a nominee for the 2018 Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year on Thursday.
Now, this isn't the official AP Offensive Rookie of the Year award, which will be handed out during the NFL Awards on Feb. 2. The Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year is voted on entirely by the fans, who will have until Jan. 21 at 3 p.m. to vote for who they believe should win.
Barkley is a favorite to win both awards after a historic season with Big Blue. He totaled a whopping 2,028 yards from scrimmage, becoming the third player in NFL history to reach that goal. Hall of Famer Eric Dickerson totaled 2,212 scrimmage yards in 1983, and Edgerrin James had 2,139 yards in 1999.
