Here are this week’s picks. I’ll be using the point spreads from Yahoo! Sports. Feel free to include your picks for these games in the comments section. Good luck!
Wild Card Weekend Record: 2-2
Baltimore Ravens (+10) at Denver Broncos
The Ravens had a nice win in Ray Lewis’ final home game, but Peyton Manning and Broncos await. I definitely like the Broncos in this game, but the 10-point spread is scaring me. I think the Ravens can keep it closer than that.
Green Bay Packers (+2.5) at San Francisco 49ers
San Francisco’s defense is certainly tough, but this game will come down to Frank Gore. If the 49ers can establish the run and keep Aaron Rodgers off the field, they’ll likely win. But I think Rodgers will get his opportunities and will capitalize.
Seattle Seahawks (+1) at Atlanta Falcons
Once again, the Falcons get no respect in being just a one-point favorite against a team that was 3-5 on the road in the regular season. But the way Seattle’s defense is playing, it’s tough to pick against them. The Seahawks’ Cinderella story will continue in Atlanta.
Houston Texans (+9.5) at New England Patriots
Here’s another big playoff spread, but I’m going with the Patriots in this one. The Patriots blew out the Texans in Foxboro in Week 14. Tom Brady’s quick passing attack will render J.J. Watt and the Texans’ defensive front irrelevant. It may not a blowout, but a 10-point Patriots victory is definitely in the cards.
