I won with the Cardinals, Saints and 49ers last week, but of course the Giants were a major disappointment
Here are this week’s picks. I’ll be using the point spreads from Yahoo! Sports. Feel free to include your picks for these or any other of the week’s games in the comments section. Good luck!
Week 14 Record: 3-1
Overall Record: 24-32
New England Patriots (-2) at Miami Dolphins
With Rob Gronkowski now out for the season, many football pundits have already cast the Patriots aside as AFC contenders. But they still have Tom Brady. The Pats are currently holding the No. 2 seed in the AFC, but the Bengals and Colts are still in the mix. I can see New England beating the division-rival Dolphins, even on the road and even without Gronk.
Kansas City Chiefs (-4.5) at Oakland Raiders
The Chiefs can clinch a playoff berth with a loss by either the Ravens or Dolphins, but Kansas City can also clinch with a win. That’s what they’ll hope to do on the road against the Raiders. Why even worry about what the other teams do? Just got out and win in Oakland. The Chiefs defeated the Raiders 24-7 earlier this season, and a similar outcome seems likely.
Cincinnati Bengals (-3) at Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers have actually rebounded nicely after a terrible start, but it looks like I’m going to be sticking with the theme of AFC road favorites this week. The Bengals would clinch the AFC North with a win and a Ravens’ loss. But even if the Ravens win, Cincinnati still needs to win this game, and I think they’ll be ready.
Seattle Seahawks (-7) at New York Giants
The road favorites theme will continue with this one, and at least the Seahawks used to be in the AFC from 1977 to 2001. The Giants have no shot in this one. The Seahawks are known for being a dominant team at home and not so great on the road, but this season the Seahawks are an impressive 5-2 on the road. Expect that record to improve to 6-2, as the Giants have too many issues to compete with the arguably the best team in football.
