As NFL week one comes closer, Giants WR Odell Beckham still doesn't have a new contract. The receiver isn't holding out, but Beckham's desire for a new deal is public knowledge.

The latest on No. 13's negotations for a new deal is that talks are ongoing and there is 'optimism' that a deal will get done by Opening Day but no deal is imminent, according to SNY's Ralph Vacchiano.

"I definitely think it's gonna work itself out," Beckham told reporters last week. "You know, when is it gonna happen, you don't know. That's the business side that is new, is still new to me in a sense, it's the first time I've ever had to deal with this or go through any of those things. I believe that it's gonna work itself out. It's a matter of time, just like anything in life, it's timing."

Beckham is certainly deserving of a new deal. He holds a bevy of all-time NFL receiving records that begin with "fastest to...". He had at least 90 receptions, 1,300 yards and 10 touchdowns in each of his first three seasons before missing most of 2017 with an ankle injury.

He also has had to watch fellow receivers from his Draft Class of 2014 all get paid, including Buccaneers' Mike Evans ($55 million guaranteed) and Rams' Brandin Cooks (five years, $80 million).
