"The Giants should also find receiving help in an NFL draft loaded with pass catchers, but they’re so barren at wideout and tight end that they will still need to make some moves in free agency. Don’t count on them getting into a bidding war for ex-Bronco Eric Decker, but do expect them to do something."And they will. Samuel outlines some candidates the team may target in free agency. James Jones, who we featured yesterday, is a popular choice. Samuel also cites the team may have interest in two of their own former wideouts: Mario Manningham and Domenik Hixon.
Another hot name is TE Jermichael Finley, who is expected to be cleared by doctors "very soon." From Rotoworld:
Finley's primary doctor and neurosurgeon have been out of the country, but return on Friday. Per PFT, the "goal" of Finley's camp is to receive clearance by Tuesday, when free agency begins. Still only 27 years old, Finley's market could be busy if he indeed gets the green light. CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reported late last month that there's already a "healthy market forming" for Finley.
The team is also in the market for a veteran RB to bolster the offensive backfield. A name that is popping up is former Jaguar and Raider Rashad Jennings, a six-year vet out of Liberty who is a well-rounded player that has posted solid numbers in some subpar offenses.
Another player the Giants will give a long look to is Houston's Ben Tate, but they won't be alone as Tate is considered the top UFA at his position this offseason.
