With all that's happened thus far, the Giants still have a long list of needs remaining to be filled...
They don't have a whole lot of cap space left. Estimates are anywhere between $2 million and $7 million depending on what website or pundit you choose to believe. The Giants will be getting more cap relief after June 1st when the remaining space from David Baas' deal is released.
NFLN's Ian Rapoport on the Giants' signing of DRC:
"Rex Ryan badly wanted DRC, but sources tell me the Giants were far more aggressive. They had him at the facility the entire day on Monday, recruiting him like a college prospect and laying out a detailed plan for how'd they use him. By the time the Jets put in a last-ditch offer, something DRC would actually consider, he'd already decided that he wanted to play for the Giants. It does seem to be a little bit of an odd fit for the laid-back DRC, but sources tell me he is absolutely looking for the structure that Tom Coughlin will bring him."
