"Will we make the playoffs? Without a doubt,” Rolle told Joe Beningo and Evan Roberts today. “Without a doubt. We will be in that postseason. And we all know once you get in the postseason, that record is 0-0-0.”
He is sure the Giants will pick up their game after coming back to life against Green Bay Sunday.
“If we go out there and play with the intensity and emotion and the passion we had this last Sunday, man, those teams are in trouble,” Rolle stated.
Rolle must not have read the injury report. His teammates are dropping like flies. His partner, Kenny Phillips (knee) will not play this Sunday night and DE Dave Tollefson (knee) may not either. Center David Baas (headaches) is sure to be doubtful. DE Osi Umenyiora, a player who Dallas has had difficulty keeping off of Tony Romo is still out.
Antrel is confident his "scrappy" Giants "will find a way to get it done." He is happy to be back playing safety..."I went back to the position I used to play in the day..."
Rolle could not explain the Giants' see-saw performance this year. One game up, one game down. He is not the only one that is baffled.
DE Justin Tuck told SNY Insider Mike Garafolo of the Star-Ledger pretty much the same thing:
"What kept me up was I know the Saints are a great football team but nobody would say the Saints are better than the Packers,” Tuck said on Monday night after signing autographs with three of his teammates at Garden State Plaza in Paramus as part of a holiday toy drive.
“So how did we come out one week and play like we did and then come out this week and play like we did? And two weeks ago play like we did against Philly and go out to San Francisco and have an opportunity to beat them out there?
“I mean, it doesn’t make any sense to me. Do I need to go see a shrink?”
