Two years ago on this date, the Giants were getting ready to face the Packers in the NFC wild-card round.

But first, some of the wide receivers celebrated a playoff berth by partying on a boat in Miami.

In the trip that was heavily scrutinized in the days, weeks and months afterward, wide receivers Odell Beckham Jr., Victor Cruz and Sterling Shepard were among several Giants players who were on a yacht with Justin Bieber, Fabolous and Trey Songz.

At the time, players like Eli Manning and Jonathan Casillas said they had no problem with their trip given they took it on their off day. Even former head coach Ben McAdoo said he didn't take an issue with it.

"I think what guys do on their off day is not a big deal," Manning said two years ago. "I saw it. I just kind of laughed. I knew I'd have to answer questions about it. I knew it would be a story. That's all I thought about it."

Of course, that wasn't so simple. Beckham had four catches on 11 targets for just 28 yards, Cruz had three catches for 30 yards and Shepard four catches for 63 yards as the Giants were blown out by the Packers later that week.

Cruz later called the trip a regret.

"Looking back on it, it definitely wasn't worth it," Cruz said. "At the end of the day, you want to put your mind in a place where you want to succeed at whatever your next task is -- especially in a football setting, in a football atmosphere."
