OL Byron Stingily was placed on the Injured Reserve with a concussion.
The Giants roster now sits at 75 players. By 4 p.m. Saturday, the team must be down to 53 players.
Taylor was a fifth-round pick of the Giants in 2013, and appeared in 16 games total during the 2013 and 2015 seasons, racking up 15 combined tackles and scoring one special teams touchdown.
New York selected Jackson in the sixth round of the 2014 NFL Draft, but the safety failed to appear in a game for the Giants.
Stingly played in 20 games, with nine starts, for Tennessee and Pittsburgh from 2012-2015.
LaCosse had been dealing with a knee injury, while Whitlock has a mild foot sprain. Both were contemplating surgery, according to league sources, which would have knocked them out for the season.
If no one claims LaCosse or Whitlock, they revert back to the Giants injured reserve.
Coprich, Maye, Boone, Powell, McDermott, Coleman, Milhouse, Rose, and Malleck were all rookie and first-year free agents.
