Eli Apple's college coach Urban Meyer has joined Brandon Marshall in jumping to the troubled cornerback's defense and wants to help.
Meyer, who took time before Ohio State's 24-7 Cotton Bowl victory over USC to speak about Apple, says he's going to reach out to his former player.
"Eli was fantastic for us," Meyer said, via Garrett Stepien of Buckeye Sports Bulletin. "As soon as this (Cotton Bowl) game's over, I'm going to try to get in the middle of that and find out because of our love we have for Eli. ... A team player and always put team before self."
Apple has been suspended for the Giants season finale to cap off a tumultuous 2017 for the former first-round pick, both personally and professionally.
