As reported last night, the Giants placed RB Brandon Jacobs (knee) on season-ending IR and promoted LB Marcus Downtin from the practice squad. Downtin, a UDFA out of North Alabama in 2012, has spent time with the Jets, Eagles and Bills.
Jacobs is the 10th player to be added to the injured reserve list by the Giants. The Giants have $19.7 million of their $124 million adjusted salary cap on the reserve/injured list. That's the fifth most of any team (READ MORE).
