Dave Gettleman may have built a winner in the NFC East, but not the Giants.
Just ask Washington Redskins cornerback Josh Norman about it.
Norman went on The Rich Eisen Show this week and was asked about the connection he, Landon Collins and Dwayne Haskins have for being Washington Redskins.
"Oh my, gosh, don't even do that," Norman said. "I think everybody in the world connected those dots. ... I think we need to put [Gettleman] on salary. They need to protect Dave Gettleman at all costs in New York, for sure, because he's winning for us."
Norman and Gettleman's relationship extends back to 2016 when Gettleman was GM of the Carolina Panthers. He initially placed the franchise tag on Norman only to later rescind the tag, which resulted in him signing with the Redskins.
Flash forward to this offseason when Gettleman refused to bother placing the franchise tag on Collins, the Giants' Pro Bowl safety, who later signed with Washington as a free agent.
At the NFL Draft, Gettleman decided to draft Duke QB Daniel Jones with the sixth overall pick instead of Haskins, who went on to be drafted by the Redskins with the 15th overall pick.
The Giants are scheduled to play the Redskins Week 4 at home and again Week 16 on the road.
Should Washington be a playoff team this season and those three players as key factors, and the Giants are not, it may very well be another black eye for Gettleman.
