Odell Beckham Jr. recently claimed in a GQ article that he was keeping the Giants' brand alive and insinuated he was the reason fans were tuning into Giants games.
That has not totally resonated with others, including for Giant Tiki Barber.
Barber, who was asked about Beckham by TMZ Sports, said that in regards to last year it was running back Saquon Barkley who was drawing fans in to watch the Giants.
"Last year it certainly was that," Barber said. "Odell was hurt a lot last year. Saquon was Rookie of the Year; he's a spectacular player. If you were watching the Giants last year it was because you wanted to see what Saquon was going to do."
Barber did acknowledge that before Barkley arrived, that Beckham may have indeed been that guy.
"That was Odell. It certainly was," he said. "But let's face it, it was probably time to move on."
Barber is no stranger to being critical of his former team, particularly Eli Manning, adding that while Beckham is just being honest with how he feels, he ultimately needs to move on.
"I think he's an emotional individual. Frustration is probably coming out," Barber said. "As he said ... he needs to move on. Giants have moved on. He will as well. It just keeps getting brought up to him."
