And why wouldn't he be? He received a call from the head Giant himself, Eli Manning, welcoming him into the fold.
As per Art Stapleton of the Record via Twitter:
David Wilson on missing Eli's welcome call: "Unknown number, of course, but he left a long message. Very detailed. Said to be ready."
Even though David Wilson didn't talk to Eli Manning directly when he called this morning, he said: "I was excited to hear his voice."
Wilson appeared on NY talk radio via phone this afternoon...
As per WFAN/AP:
The five-foot-nine, 206-pounder spoke with Joe & Evan on WFAN on Friday morning and expressed the joy he felt upon hearing his name called by Big Blue.
“It was an exciting moment for me,” Wilson said. “My phone lit up and I started screaming. But I don’t know too many people in New Jersey yet.”
“I run bigger than my stats say,” the 2011 Atlantic Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Year said. “I think I’m a mixture of Arian Foster and Ray Rice.”
The Giants can only hope.
