The Knicks (19-26) head to Indiana to battle the Pacers (22-21) on Monday.

According to STATS:

  • The Pacers have dropped two in a row for the first time this month following Saturday's 109-100 loss at the Jazz. It was the first time Indiana lost a game in which it shot 50.0+ percent from the field and behind the arc since March 23, 2012 versus Phoenix.
  • The Knicks fell to 3-13 since Christmas after Saturday's 107-105 loss to the Suns. Each of New York's last three losses have come by three points or fewer for the first time since another three-game streak from March 5-14, 2003.
  • Indiana evened the season series up with New York at one game apiece with a 123-109 win just 12 days ago. The win extended the Pacers' home winning streak over the Knicks to nine games, their longest all-time in the head-to-head series.
  • Neither team had a player score 20+ points in the last meeting on January 7. Prior to that game, the last time the Knicks and Pacers met without a 20-point scorer was March 16, 2012.
  • Carmelo Anthony scored 30+ points in back-to-back games for the first time this season with 31 in the loss to Phoenix. New York is just 5-5 this season when Anthony goes for 30 or more points, with losses in each of the last four.
  • Jeff Teague led the Pacers with 19 points and seven assists in the loss to Utah. Teague has now dished off at least five assists in 23 straight games, the longest streak by a Pacer since Jamaal Tinsley's 23-game run from January 20 -- March 20, 2007.

The teams have met twice this season, with the home team winning both times.

The Pacers (22-21) have won seven of their last 10 games despite the recent straggles. They are returning home after a three-game Western road trip.

The Nets (8-25) will try to stop Paul George and the Indiana Pacers (18-18) from picking up their fourth straight win on Thursday in Indiana.

According to STATS:

  • Since the 2013-14 season, the Pacers are 9-4 against the Nets overall and are 5-1 against them at home during this time. The teams have split the two games they have already played this season with each team winning at home.
  • The Nets are just 1-16 on the road this season (won at Phoenix on November 12) and have lost 13 straight away from home. Brooklyn's 13-game road losing streak is its longest in a season since it lost 15 straight in 2009-10 from December 11 to February 9.
  • In Indiana's 121-116 win over Detroit on Tuesday, Paul George had a game-high 32 points and was a perfect 10-for-10 from the free-throw line. • In Brooklyn's 101-89 loss to the Jazz on Monday, Trevor Booker had 17 points and 15 rebounds, his second-career game with 15-plus points and 15-plus rebounds (March 7, 2012 vs. Lakers). Booker is averaging 10.5 points and 12.0 rebounds over his last four games after missing a game on December 23.
  • When these teams last played on November 25, Glenn Robinson III scored a career-high 20 points and shot 4-for-6 from three-point range (66.7%). Robinson III has started every game since December 12 but is averaging just 5.6 points during this time.
  • After scoring zero points against the Pacers on December 27, 2014, Brook Lopez has scored at least 20 points in six of the last seven games he has played against Indiana. Over these last seven games, Lopez is averaging 22.4 points and is shooting 57.1 percent from the field.

INDIANAPOLIS -- For the first time this season, the Indiana Pacers have won three straight games. They'll look to make it four straight as they host the Brooklyn Nets at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Thursday night.

Paul George has been hot of late, scoring 32 or more points in three of his last four games. As he goes, the Pacers have gone this season. In the 18 Pacer wins, Paul George is averaging 24.4 points per game on 49% shooting. In the 18 Pacer losses, George is averaging 20.4 points per game on just 41 percent shooting. The Pacers are also 9-2 this season when George scores 25 or more points.

"The moment we start getting on a winning streak, I think it will carry over," George said. "Our defense is starting to travel. We've got a chance to make it four against Brooklyn back home."

  • New York lost the last three games of its five-game Western Conference road trip, including a 127-114 defeat in Denver Saturday. It is the longest losing streak of the year for the Knicks.
  • The Knicks have won eight of their last 10 home games since November 9. In that span, only the Cavaliers (9-1), Warriors (9-1) and Rockets (9-2) have better records at home.
  • Carmelo Anthony scored a team-high 29 points against the Nuggets Saturday on just 14 shot attempts. It was his most career points scored in a game with fewer than 15 field-goal attempts.

NEW YORK -- Relying on a last-second shot to get a win on the first night of a back-to-back is not necessarily the preference for the Indiana Pacers.

It still beats the alternative and now the Pacers will try to complete the back-to-back sweep Tuesday night when they visit the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

Indiana (15-14) is playing its 10th game in the last 15 days. The Pacers have won five of those games and four of their last six overall.

On Monday, Indiana needed Thaddeus Young's short jumper with 0.9 of a second remaining to get a 107-105 victory over the Washington Wizards. Young's dramatic game-winner occurred after the Pacers held an eight-point lead with 4:05 remaining.

The Brooklyn Nets host the Indiana Pacers at Barclays Center on Saturday at 6 p.m. ET.

According to STATS:

  • Indiana has won seven of its last nine games against Brooklyn, including both meetings so far in 2015-16.
  • Entering this weekend, the Pacers were second in the NBA in most points off of turnovers, averaging 19.0 per game. That is a major improvement over last season, when they finished 26th in the league (14.2) in this category.
  • The Nets outscored the Cavaliers 24-12 in their nine-point victory over Cleveland on Thursday. The 12 points are the fewest Brooklyn has given up in any fourth quarter this season; the Nets held the Cavaliers to just 19.0 (4/21) percent shooting in that quarter.
  • Myles Turner had 24 points and a career-high 16 rebounds in Thursday's win over New Orleans. The 16 boards were the most in a game by a Pacers' rookie since Chuck Person pulled down 18 against the Knicks, March 27, 1987.
  • Brook Lopez is averaging 22.2 points per game in March. The last Nets' player to post a higher scoring average in March was Vince Carter (23.8) in March 2009.
  • Since Sean Kilpatrick was signed to his second 10-day contract on March 9, he has averaged 15.7 points per game on 56.5 percent shooting, including 44.8 percent from behind the arc (although he was 0-for-6 from 3-point range on Thursday).

The Nets travel to face the Pacers for a 7 p.m. road game on Friday.

According to STATS:

  • The Pacers have lost their last two games against the Nets after having taken the previous five meetings in this series.
  • Brooklyn is averaging 16.7 points per game off turnovers in 2015-16, but had just nine in Wednesday's loss to Miami. That snapped the Nets' streak of 16 consecutive games with 10+ points off opponent turnovers.
  • Indiana is coming off a 107-81 home victory over Dallas on Wednesday. The Pacers trailed by two at the half, but outscored the Mavericks 62-34 after halftime.
  • Jarrett Jack had 22 points and 10 assists in Wednesday's loss to the Heat. It was his fifth double-double this season (equaling his total from the entire 2014-15 season), but Brooklyn is winless (0-5) in those contests.
  • Paul George has scored 20 or more points in his each of his last five games against the Nets; that is tied for his longest active streak of 20+ point games versus any opponent (also vs Clippers).
  • C.J. Miles came off the bench to pour in a game-high 20 points in Wednesday's win over Dallas. It was his sixth 20+ point game of the season, but his first as a bench player. The Pacers are 4-2 in 2015-16 when Miles has 20+ points.

(AP) -- The Indiana Pacers are doing a good job of using different lineups to create points off turnovers and that factor could be a recipe for success against the lowly Brooklyn Nets.

The Nets struggle to limit opponents in that department and have been awful on the road ahead of Friday night's matchup against a Pacers team that is 7-0 at home against Eastern Conference foes.

Indiana (15-9) has shown its versatility by occasionally employing a starting lineup with two big men with a presence in the post, as it did in Wednesday's 107-81 rout of Dallas in which Lavoy Allen and Ian Mahinmi started. Allen replaced C.J. Miles, who came off the bench.

Tonight, the Nets begin a gauntlet of a three-game road trip against a trio of NBA title contenders, beginning with a trip to Indiana to play the Pacers. After beating the NBA's worst team last night, now they face arguably the league's best team, a Pacers team that's already beaten them twice this season.

Last night against the Bucks, head coach Jason Kidd started a small lineup that included??two point guards in Shaun Livingston and Deron Williams, and?Joe Johnson and Paul Pierce at the two forward spots. While that adjustment was effective against the hapless Milwaukee Bucks on Friday, it probably won't fly against this taller, more athletic Pacers squad that could be a matchup nightmare for Brooklyn tonight.

The Nets will be without Andray Blatche and Andrei Kirilenko for the duration of this road trip, hurting their depth that already took a big hit when Brook Lopez went down for the season. The last time these teams squared off, this past Monday at the Barclays Center, the Pacers had no trouble blowing out the Nets in dominant fashion.

Tonight at the Barclays Center, the Nets look to move forward from the devastating news about Brook Lopez?in a doozy of a matchup with the Indiana Pacers. The Pacers enter tonight with a 22-5 record, the best record in the Eastern Conference, a half-game shy of the best overall record in the NBA.

The Nets were 2-7 in the nine games Lopez missed with ankle woes, and now it appears they'll be without him for the rest of the 2013-14 season with his broken foot. That means guys like Mirza Teletovic, Andray Blatche and Mason Plumlee will have to step up, and the first test will be tonight against Pacers big man Roy Hibbert.

I'd expect Jason Kidd to use Kevin Garnett primarily at center now, with Teletovic potentially getting regular playing time as the starting power forward. That would enable Andray Blatche and Mason Plumlee to continue coming off the bench in their regular roles, albeit likely with more playing time overall.

The rest of the Eastern Conference is improving around the New York Knicks.

The Miami Heat are the defending champs, and well, LeBron James is still on the team. The Indiana Pacers proved they're a tough test for the Knicks in the playoffs. The Brooklyn Nets added Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce to play alongside Deron Williams, and the Chicago Bulls will get a healthy Derrick Rose back this year.

So Carmelo Anthony, how will you respond?

Tonight at 7 p.m., the Nets head to Bankers Life Fieldhouse in a game that has huge playoff implications.

If the Pacers win, they will clinch at least the third seed in the Eastern Conference playoff picture. The Nets have won both previous matchups over Indiana this season, so even if they lose, they would hold the tiebreaker in that category.

But with only three games remaining after tonight, Brooklyn would not be able to match Indiana?s overall record if it drops tonight?s contest.
