Title: Studio Operations Manager

Position Overview: This position is responsible for the overall direct scheduling and supervision of all non-union technical crews. Candidate should be a strong managerial leader with broadcast experience; a positive, self-starter who can interact with all levels of production and senior management.

JOB DUTIES:

  • In conjunction with Technical Operations Manager, manage staff and freelance broadcast crew personnel. Includes all crew scheduling, training and hiring, performance evaluation and feedback, compensation evaluation and addressing all employee related issues.
  • Ability to interact with all areas of production and senior management to maximize resources and ensure a quality, seamless production in a changing, fast-paced, live studio environment.
  • Support studio operations from live control room by acting as quality control person for check in of incoming remote feeds, including but not limited to routing, video processing, aspect ratio conversion / verification, audio and remote communications.
  • Along with Technical Operations Manager, maintain weekly studio budget and overtime levels. Maintain weekly financial reports as needed.
  • Operational and troubleshooting knowledge of all production systems currently in use to ensure a consistently high level of technical quality across all productions including but not limited to video, audio, automation and lighting systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot audio, video, and intercom systems, operate test equipment and clearly communicate technical problems to engineering is required.
  • Perform other related duties as required and special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS degree in related field or equivalent experience required.
  • Must have a minimum of five to seven years professional broadcast / cable technical production management experience, and should include live studio and remote experience.
  • Familiarity with routers, Grass Valley production switchers, Vizrt Graphics, SSL audio, iNews, Avid Interplay, RTS Intercom, Overdrive automation and AutoScript prompter systems a plus.
  • Must be familiar with basic Microsoft Office programs.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communications skills a must.

Title: Multi-Platform Marketing Manager

Position Overview: The Multi-Platform Marketing Manager at SNY is responsible for all off-channel marketing and cross-departmental marketing support. This person will reinforce and solidify SNY's positioning as the Home for NY sports in a breakout way. Using proper creative and marketing strategies, this position will leverage best practices in marketing, social media, digital promotions, mobile marketing, and technology. This position will regularly interact with internal and external resources as the subject matter expert to drive, support, and execute successful marketing campaigns for all consumer touchpoints for SNY.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Partner with other internal stakeholders to own SNY's brand identity and voice across all platforms.
  • Maximize brand awareness through all available relationships and outlets in the New York City market and beyond.
  • Manage the creative development of all network marketing campaigns across all mediums including digital, social, print, radio, outdoor.
  • Manage the development of collateral materials such as premiums, signage, etc.

  • Develop, track and maximize marketing budget and process marketing-related invoices.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum five (5) years' marketing and advertising experience related to sports, media or entertainment industries.
  • Must have proven ability to develop and implement strategic multiplatform marketing plans, including use of digital and social media.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in managing the conceptualization and execution of a brand or company's social media marketing strategy.
  • Prior experience managing and tracking budgets.

Title: Jib Operator

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with technical and news staff to satisfy production needs for live, taped and automated programming under supervision of Director and Operations management.
  • Ability to proficiently operate Cammate Jib, and hand-held cameras equally as dictated by productions demands.
  • Assist in maintaining all of the cameras in good working order.
  • In coordination with the Director, create and offer visually interesting and varied subject shots.

Title: Digital Account Executive

We are currently seeking a Digital Account Executive to focus on growing our sponsor portfolio across our owned platforms and social channels.

Candidate will responsible for executing on sales strategy for our existing online advertising products including live in-market streaming, custom content, sponsored content, video, social media channels, sweepstakes, display, as well as identify emerging platforms and new content offerings.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Achieve annual digital revenue goals across all video and social platforms.
  • Create, manage, and sell multi-platform sponsorship campaigns from start to finish including pricing, strategy, implementation and optimization.
  • Proactively drive new business by prospecting and researching new accounts and untapped agencies.
  • Work alongside network's ad sales team and team partners (New York Mets, New York Excelsior) to create best in class sponsorships. Research and develop new digital opportunities and present to the sales teams on an ongoing basis. Mentor staff on industry standards and best practices.

Title: Producer/Editor

Position Overview: Reporting to the Senior Producer/Editor, the Producer/Editor will write, shoot, produce and edit short- and long-form video/audio/visual content for SNY.tv and SNY's social media channels.

This role also includes graphics responsibility, including the creation of animations and motion graphics for short- and long-form video, as well as photoshop work for static graphics.

The Producer/Editor is also expected to work with SNY's social media and editorial teams to maintain consistent voice and assist with audience interaction across all platforms.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

SportsNet New York has internships available for the spring, summer and fall semesters.

Spring 2020: Applications will be accepted starting on October 1st.

Interns, who must have completed their sophomore year in college will be paid and may receive college credit if needed. The minimum GPA requirement for our internship program is a 3.0. Interns will receive hands-on experience assisting in a wide range of the station's operations. Interns generally work approximately 20 hours per week, which may include nights and weekends. Newsroom

The Newsroom at SportsNet New York is responsible for the day-to-day planning and production of SNY's on-air schedule. Additionally, the department produces "The Thread," "Baseball Night in New York," "Loud Mouths," "GEICO SportsNite," and Mets, Jets, and UConn programming.

Interns will assist with the following:

Candidates should be concentrating in communications, with an education and/or training in broadcasting. They should also have a strong interest in televised sports and production. Proficiency in computers and typing is a must. They should also be familiar with the programs currently presented on SportsNet New York.

Affiliate, Marketing and Programming

Interns in the department will assist the Marketing/Programming Staff in various consumer marketing, affiliate marketing, public relations, on-air promotion, program planning, ratings research and website related tasks. Interns will be assigned on-going, daily responsibilities as well as stand-alone projects and will assist with various office and administrative duties. Interns will attend weekly department meetings and various project meetings throughout the semester.

Interns will have the opportunity to work with the Accounting Department and understand the purchasing and procurement cycle, as well as the employee expense reimbursement process and policies. The Accounting Intern will work closely with the Staff Accountant to complete ad hoc projects on a daily and weekly basis, including vendor payment reconciliations, expense account analysis, and other tasks based on departmental needs.

Interns will have the opportunity to work with the IT Department and gain experience with the day-to-day management of IT infrastructure.
