But that's exactly what happened 5:48 into the first period of the game. Lee and Wilson got tangled up near the Capitals bench and then the gloves were off.
For Lee, it was his second career fight in the NHL. He had a fight during the Regular season against -- none other than -- Tom Wilson back on November 26. Wilson got the better of Lee, but the Islanders capitalized on the momentum and scored 26 seconds later off a snipe from Josh Bailey.
"It's part of the game," Lee said about the fight. "We protect our players, they protect their's. It's going to happen in a series and it happened early tonight."
The Islanders ended up falling to the Capitals 5-1.
