Sometimes in the National Hockey League, an opposing goaltender will turn in a masterclass performance and there's next to nothing that any set of forwards can do about it.
That's exactly what happened to the Islanders against the Jets on Friday night. Not even the NHL's highest-scoring team could unlock Connor Hellebuyck as the goalie saved 44 of 46 shots faced.
Anders Lee scored both Isles goals, bringing his tally for the season to 24 which is level with Alexander Ovechkin and Nikita Kucherov for the NHL lead. He tipped his cap to the opposing netminder.
"If we play like that and have chances like that every night we're going to win most of those games," said Lee, via Cory Wright of the team's official site. "You have to tip the cap a bit to Hellebuyck on the other side, he played a hell of a game."
The Islanders are next in action on New Year's Eve against the Avalanche at 8 p.m.
