Islanders forward Mathew Barzal is among three finalist for the Calder Memorial Trophy that honors the NHL's top rookie.
The 20-year-old Barzal is considered the favorite for the award after scoring 22 goals, 63 assists and 85 points in 82 games for New York this season.
Barzal, the Islanders' first-round pick in the 2015 NHL entry draft, played 41 games for the WHL's Seattle Thunderbirds last season and made his NHL debut last year as well, appearing in two games for New York.
The other two finalists are Vancouver Canucks forward Brock Boeser, who totaled 29 goals, 26 assists and 55 points, and Arizona Coyotes forward Clayton Keller, who recorded 23 goals, 42 assists and 65 points.
The Professional Hockey Writers Association will vote on the winner, who will be announced at the NHL Awards show in Las Vegas on June 20.
