"You know me," DiPietro told Point Blank after the 6-0 loss in Florida. "I'm not ruling out playing both games this weekend. We'll talk it over with the doctors, Garrett (Timms) and the coaching staff and do what's best long-term. But right now of course I want to play, and I feel I can play both."
The Islanders open the season on Friday at New Jersey and have their home opener Saturday against St. Louis.
DiPietro said he felt no post-game pain after going the full 60. "I'd like to have one or two back and some of those bounces were crazy, but I got my work in and felt great."
If DiPietro sits out one of the two openers, Joey MacDonald will get the start.
