[sny-box]The Least You Should Know About the Sharks... San Jose has won four in a row and five of six... They are on the second half of a back-to-back, having won in OT in Columbus last night... No players are questionable for tonight. Thomas Hertl and Brad Stuart are out with long-term injuries... [/sny-box]
Despite the fact that it has been almost four years since Evgeni Nabokov last suited up for the San Jose Sharks, tonight will actually be his first start against the team for which he spent ten years between the pipes. Nabokov was injured the last time the Islanders were in San Jose -- and got a nice standing ovation from the crowd -- but tonight he will square off against the Sharks as the Islanders starting goaltender.
That last game against the Sharks was a doozy, too. It was back in December when the Islanders were in the middle of a season-killing 10-game losing streak when they headed to San Jose against one of the best teams in the NHL. After falling behind 0-2, they somehow clawed back for two goals in the third en route to a 3-2 shootout win. Fast forward four months and the teams are still in relatively the same positions; the Sharks are tied for the second most points in the league and the Islanders have the fourth fewest.
As far as the Isles lineup goes, the big news is that Johan Sundstrom will make his NHL debut tonight. No word on if Kevin Czuczman will play tonight. Michael Grabner is out with a concussion, so the top line LW spot is up for Grabs. Here' the projection:
|Scratches: Martinek, Carkner, Boulton IR: Tavares, Grabner|
