Jaroslav Halak will start in goal for the Islanders when they play the Panthers at home tonight at 7 p.m., head coach Doug Weight said.
Casey Cizikas will also see his return to the Isles' lineup tonight after missing about two weeks with a hand injury. He was placed on the IR on Jan. 13, and didn't have a timetable for his return.
"Casey will play the wing with Nelly [Brock Nelson] and either Fritzy [Tanner Fritz] or [Alan] Quine," head coach Doug Weight said. "We're excited to get him back. He's got a big engine and brings a lot of energy and he's a heck of a hockey player. Great to get him back. He's feeling really good and really confident."
The center has totaled 11 points (five goals, six assists) in 40 games this season.
Ross Johnston, who was recently recalled from loan, will be out tonight. Weight will also keep the same defensive pairings as normal.
The Panthers travel to Brooklyn in an attempt to gain ground in the Wild Card race, while the Islanders look to do the same. Florida is 3-6-1 in their last 10 games that includes a three-game losing streak at the moment.
