Over the last two games, the Islanders haven't played like a team that's worthy of winning a division crown. They were shut out for the second consecutive game Thursday, losing in Montreal 4-0, and remain three points behind Washington as both teams now have eight games remaining.
Thomas Greiss was pulled at 8:19 of the second period after allowing four goals on 22 shots. Robin Lehner stopped all 12 shots he faced in relief while Carey Price stopped all 28 of the Islanders' shots. According to the New York Post, the Islanders were shut out in consecutive games for the first time since Nov. 19-21, 2011.
