With Barry Trotz and Lou Lamoriello in charge of the Islanders, center Casey Cizikas told the Islanders website that he feels like a rookie and is coming in to training camp looking to prove himself "all over again."
Cizikas has played in 413 career games, all with the Islanders, and had 7 goals and 10 assists in 64 games last season.
He said that he is excited to play under Trotz and is looking forward to the opportunity for more minutes and responsibilities with John Tavares now in Toronto.
Cizikas said that his intention is to come to camp this year "work extremely hard" and do what has brought him to this place in his career.
He added that he is also excited about the return of former linemate Matt Martin and the chance that he, Martin and Cal Clutterbuck may get to play together again.
