The Islanders are glad to be home after their recently-completed nine-game road trip.
"I think all we can do is just keep trucking forward; we're still in a good spot," John Tavares said Saturday night, according to Neil Best of Newsday. "I think obviously we'll be excited to be back home Monday in front of our fans."
The Islanders, who lost to the Blues on Saturday, finished the road trip with a record of 5-3-1.
"You have to," interim head coach Doug Weight said Saturday about forgetting the loss to the Blues. "Moving forward, you have to wash your memory. It was 5-3-1 against some formidable opponents. We'll take it, but it's disappointing."
At 32-24-11 and with 75 points, the Islanders are one point behind the Maple Leafs for the second and final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference.
"We've gained some confidence on the road as a team," Weight continued. "I think playing on the road, the style we have to play, we've played a lot of different teams with different elements."
The Islanders host the Hurricanes on Monday night at 7:30 p.m. at Barclays Center.
