According to Staple, Poulin will make $600,000 at the NHL level and $275,000 in the AHL.
Poulin did not accept a qualifying offer earlier this summer and had a Sept. 17 deadline for a new deal.
The 25-year-old played in one game with the Islanders last year, stopping 23 of 26 shots against the Sabres. In 50 NHL games, Poulin has a 18-25 record with a .899 save percentage and 3.07 goals-against average.
You can expect to see Poulin spend most of -- if not all of -- the 2015-16 season in Bridgeport. With Jaroslav Halak as the Islanders' starter and veteran backup Thomas Greiss in the fold, there isn't much room for Poulin, barring any injuries.
Poulin has produced some good outings in the AHL and can serve the Sound Tigers well, along with Stephon Williams.
