The Islanders announced they re-signed forward Brock Nelson to a six-year deal on Thursday.
The 27-year-old Nelson ranked third on the team with 53 points this season, scoring 25 goals and tallying 28 assists in 82 games.
He will earn $6 million annually, according to Newsday's Andrew Gross.
Nelson has played in 480 games since debuting with the Islanders in the 2013-14 season. Over the past six seasons, he has 124 goals, 117 assists and 241 points.
With Nelson locked up, the Islanders can turn their attention to other pending unrestricted free agents on their roster: Anders Lee, Jordan Eberle, Robin Lehner and Valtteri Filppula.
