Islanders D Ryan Pulock has been activated off IR and sent to Bridgeport of the AHL on loan, the team announced Tuesday.
On Oct. 22, the team said Pulock would miss four-to-six weeks due to a lower-body injury, which Newsday's Arthur Staple later reported was a broken foot.
Pulock, 22, has played in just one game this season.
With Adam Pelech leaving Monday night's game with an upper body injury, this couldn't come at a better time. Pelech is just day-to-day, which is good because Pulock will probably need some conditioning work before he's ready to start playing a sizable chunk of minutes again. But it will certainly be nice to have the youngster back in the lineup.
It also should helped the power play, which continues to be sluggish. The Isles are converting at just a 12.9 percent clip with the extra attacker (25th in the NHL, and second-worst in the East). With Pulock's shot back in the lineup, it will be interesting to see if it helps jump start the special teams.
