Islanders defenseman Ryan Pulock will miss four to six weeks with a lower-body injury, the team announced Saturday.
According to Newsday's Arthur Staple, Pulock broke his foot Friday night while blocking a shot.
Pulock left Friday's game in the first period with the injury, and head coach Jack Capuano had acknowledged after the game that he could miss significant time.
"The first indication is that he could be out a while," Capuano told reporters after the game.
The Islanders played with five defensemen the rest of the night and held on for a 3-2 win in Pulock's absence.
Defenseman Nick Leddy is expected to be ready to go and will be in lineup Sunday, reports Staple.
The Islanders also announced Eric Boulton was placed on waivers.
